The five General Sessions at XPONENTIAL will feature prominent leaders spanning the unmanned systems industry, and the 2016 keynote line-up will not disappoint! We’ve assembled experts spanning all aspects of unmanned systems – crossing domains and industry sectors – who will leave you informed and inspired.

AUVSI is pleased to welcome Emmy Award winning reporter, Miles O'Brien, as this year's General Session Host and our excellent line-up of keynote speakers!

Host of XPONENTIAL 2016

Miles O’Brien is a veteran independent journalist who focuses on science, technology and aerospace. He is the science correspondent for PBS NewsHour, a producer and director for the PBS science documentary series NOVA, and a correspondent for the PBS documentary series FRONTLINE and the National Science Foundation Science Nation series. For nearly seventeen of his thirty-two years in the news business, he worked for CNN as the science, environment and aerospace space correspondent and the anchor of various programs, including American Morning.

Tuesday, May 3, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

Gur Kimchi is co-founder and vice president of Prime Air, Amazon’s future drone delivery system designed to safely transport packages to customers in 30 minutes or less. In this role, Kimchi leads a growing team of aviation, robotics, hardware and software experts in the development of Prime Air vehicles, systems and operations.

Tuesday, May 3, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

John Chambers, Executive Chairman of the Board, is a working chairman with key areas of responsibility that include: focusing on country digitization and building relationships with government and business leaders, shareholders, and board members. He is an advisor to CEO, Chuck Robbins, on the company’s strategy, digital transformation, security and relationships and strategic partnerships, among other areas.

Chambers became President and CEO in 1995 and Chairman of the Board in 2006. He helped grow the company from $70 million when he joined Cisco in January 1991, to $1.2 billion when he assumed the role of CEO, to $47 billion in FY15. In 2006, Chambers was named Chairman of the Board, in addition to his CEO role. He served as Chairman and CEO from 2006 – 2015.

Tuesday, May 3, 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

General David G. Perkins assumed duties as Commander, United States Army Training and Doctrine Command on March 14, 2014 after serving as Commander, United States Army Combined Arms Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. General Perkins was the 21st Commander of the United States Army Combined Arms Center from November 2011 to February 2014, where he was the lead for synchronizing leader development across the Army, the management of the Army’s training support and training development enterprises, and the development and integration of the doctrine the Army uses to fight and win our Nation’s wars.

Wednesday, May 4, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

Huerta is responsible for the safety and efficiency of the largest aerospace system in the world. He oversees a $15.9 billion dollar budget, over 47,000 employees and is focused on ensuring the agency and its employees are the best prepared and trained professionals to meet the growing demands and requirements of the industry. Huerta also oversees the FAA's multi-billion dollar NextGen air traffic control modernization program as the United States shifts from ground-based radar to state-of-the-art satellite technology.

Thursday Panel

Thursday, May 5, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

During Thursday’s General Session Panel Congressman Frank LoBiondo (R-NJ), Mr. Frank Kelley, Mr. Marke “Hoot” Gibson and Dr. John Cavolowsky will each share their unique perspectives on the applications and integration of unmanned technology.

As Director of NASA’s Airspace Systems Program, Dr. John Cavolowsky is responsible for the overall planning, management and evaluation of the directorate’s efforts in foundational air traffic management (ATM) and operational safety research that enables development of revolutionary improvements to, and modernization of, the National Airspace System.

AUVSI’s President and CEO Brian Wynne will moderate the final General Session of XPONENTIAL 2016.
