Jay Willmott has been a member of AUVSI for over thirty (30) years. He is a two-time past AUVSI Chapter President (Hampton Roads & D.C. Chapters) who began his long drone career manufacturing remotely piloted aircraft during the mid-‘80s, when he oversaw development, production and deployment of several hundred small UAVs and related support equipment for delivery to DOD and international clientele. Following the acquisition of his business by L-3 Communications in late 2004, he went on to manage UAV Pro, then later founded Nexutech, LLC, a group of independent consultants with decades of experience in unmanned systems. Jay is a proponent for the safe integration of unmanned systems into the National Airspace System and is active in policymaking and aviation event planning. He is frequently called on to mentor small businesses and government leaders seeking insight into unmanned systems. Jay is a native of Huntsville, Alabama who attended Auburn and who now flies his drones in Blackstone, VA. Xponential 2018 is Mr. Willmott’s thirty-first (31st) consecutive AUVSI show.
