Kristy is the program chair for the Master of Science in Unmanned Systems at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Worldwide campus. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Brown University, a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle, and a Ph.D. in Aviation from Embry-Riddle. She has developed classes on unmanned systems payloads and operations, as well as safety management systems in aviation. Kristy is the co-chair for the Emergency and Medical Response working group for the ANSI Unmanned Aircraft Systems Standardization Collaborative, a team lead for the Instructor Proficiency working group for the AUVSI Trusted Operator Program, and a member of the UAS subcommittee for the University Aviation Association. In addition, she is a member of the drafting team for the UAS Remote Pilots Code. Her research involves safety in unmanned systems. Before joining Embry-Riddle, she was a Coast Guard aviator and Aviation Safety Officer. She holds an Airline Transport Pilot rating and a Remote Pilot certificate.
