Rick Thomas is an Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Account Manager within Rockwell Collins Airborne Solutions, handling activities involving Group 4 and 5 UAS. In this role he interfaces with government and industry customers on technologies related to UAS command, control, communications, and navigation systems.
Rick served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot and subject matter expert for unmanned aircraft programs. Rick held various positions in the Air Force including duty as the Headquarters Air Force functional manager for the RQ-4 Global Hawk UAS program, and operational flying assignments in military airlift, training, and high altitude reconnaissance platforms. Rick is also a current FAA certificated flight instructor (CFII), a FAR Part 107 remote pilot, and also holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with prior FAR Part 121 airline experience. Rick also authored the book “Global Hawk”.
