Paul Deppe is a 1976 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a BS in Electrical Engineering with honors. In the Navy he flew the P-3 Orion with Patrol Squadron Sixteen (VP-16), graduated from the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School with distinction in 1982, and served at the U.S. Naval Test Center and aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69).
Mr. Deppe has been an Engineering Test Pilot and Electrical Engineer at Calspan since 1988, responsible for numerous flight research projects on the NC-131H Total In-Flight Simulator (TIFS), Variable-Stability Learjets, Gulfstream G-III, and other research aircraft. He was Director of Engineering for the Calspan Flight Research Group from 2010 to 2012 and is currently Senior Director of Flight Operations, including Calspan’s FAR Part 107 sUAS operations.
