Commander Tom Madigan is a 22-year veteran of law enforcement. Commander Madigan manages the ACSO small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems (sUAS) program. ACSO has one of the most active sUAS programs in the nation. Commander Madigan has worked extensively with privacy rights groups, public agencies, and remote-pilots to develop model policies and procedures for sUAS usage by public safety.
Commander Madigan participated in the U.S. DOJ Expert Convening on sUAS for law enforcement in Washington, D.C., the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) UAV Training program and the Airborne Public Safety Association, Public Safety Aviation Accreditation Commission standards to the use of sUAS by public safety agencies. Commander Madigan has conducted numerous public presentations for a variety of groups around the nation and has been a strong advocate and spokesperson for sUAS usage for public safety.
Commander Madigan is an FAA Part 107 certificate holder and has served as Captain of the Office of Emergency Services, SWAT Team Leader, Detective Sergeant, Patrol Watch Commander, Detention and Corrections Division Lieutenant, Commander, and a variety of other law enforcement related assignments.
