Kevin Berent is a Senior Program Manager at the Electric
Power Research Institute (EPRI). His research is focused
in the Transmission and Substations area, and includes
topics such as resiliency, physical security, gas insulated
substations and lines, sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), and
alternatives to SF6.
Prior to EPRI, Kevin was a Director at the North American
Transmission Forum (NATF), and a Manager at the SERC
Reliability Corporation. For eight years he focused on
improving the reliability and resiliency of the bulk electric
system in the United States and Canada.
He brings a diverse leadership background including
manufacturing and industrial engineering (Michelin), service
and sales (Cintas), and military service (a navigator in the
United States Air Force).
Kevin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management
from the United States Air Force Academy. Additionally, he
has a Master of Science degree in Operations Management
from the University of Arkansas, and a Master of Business
Administration degree from the University of South Carolina.
