As a commercial specialist with the U.S. Commercial Service in Germany, Moritz von Holst is responsible for supporting U.S. companies in the aerospace and defense, electronics production and hunting & sport shooting sectors. His responsibilities include business development & advocacy, export promotion & counseling, defining market entry strategies, conducting partner search and matchmaking programs, creating industry sector analyses, and more. Holst received a Special Act of Service Award, an Excellence in Innovation Award and an Honor Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce as well as an Export Partner of the Year Award from Reed Exhibitions. Holst has been selected for temporary duty assignments in the United States and abroad.
Prior to joining the U.S. Commercial Service in May 2005, his previous assignments included Country Manager Germany of Samba Digital, an American-run software firm with headquarters in Prague, and Director E-Solutions at Metastream Interactive Marketing in Berlin. During his three-year tenure at Samba, Holst gained extensive experience as a small entrepreneur. Holst started to gather business experience while studying law at the Free University of Berlin. In 1995, he spent his first semester break doing an internship with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceutical Inc. in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
Holst’s interests span from traveling, sports and art, to volunteer work with juveniles.
