Gregory Agvent is the Director of News Operations for CNN/U.S., responsible for designing and executing the technical, logistical and production strategies to support CNN’s multi-platform editorial mission. Based in Atlanta, Agvent has worked extensively with both the Editorial and Technical leadership in developing CNN’s broadcast coverage of virtually every significant domestic news story of the last decade. His current role bridges the editorial and technical worlds with a focus on applied technologies; enhanced multi-platform production systems, developing newsgathering technologies, information management systems and resource allocation.
Agvent has been involved with unmanned aerial systems (UAS) since CNN initiated its research efforts with the Georgia Tech Research Institute and the Federal Aviation Administration. He’s a member of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) and serves on the advisory boards of several UAS related groups.
