The Alliance for System Safety of UAS through Research Excellence (ASSURE) invites you to join us for the ASSURE-X Industry Day and Research and Technology Fair! From 11:00 - 1:00 the ASSURE team will provide an overview of capabilities and opportunities to partner with industry outside of FAA funded projects. The overview will include how to access resources within the 20-university alliance, relationships with other agencies and countries, and how to engage the ASSURE Research and Development Corporation (a not-for-profit business unit). This is a come-and-go session with an ASSURE Overview briefing at 11:15 and 12:15. All Full Conference Pass holders are invited to attend to hear about industry engagement with the ASSURE team.

From 2:00 - 4:15 the ASSURE leadership and FAA leadership will provide the latest updates on research supporting UAS integration into the National Airspace System sponsored through the Center of Excellence program. This session will include a dialogue between the FAA and the ASSURE directors, as well as briefings from project principal investigators. This session is designed to provide opportunities to interact and learn from the Center about the latest research and future directions for achieving UAS integration milestones. The ASSURE team invites all Full Conference Pass Holders to attend this session and meet with the ASSURE and FAA representatives.

The workshop will introduce you to creating accurate reconstructions and improving your results. The Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Weather Forum provides a platform for UAS operators; federal and state agencies; weather researchers and providers; trade groups; safety and insurance groups; UAS manufacturers; and others to:

  • Share experiences with expected and unexpected weather impacts
  • Engage in a dialogue about weather needs for UAS operations
  • Collect requirements for developing better weather guidance
  • Cultivate strategies on how to make progress with needed weather support
  • Assist regulators with safe integration of UAS into the national airspace system considering weather impacts
  • Explore opportunities for using UAS-sensed environmental information for enhanced situational awareness and better weather prediction

The 2nd Annual Unmanned Safety Standdown, hosted by USI, is a one-day workshop tailored towards safety management for organizations of all sizes. The workshop offers program topics on UAS program management, designing manuals and documentation (e.g. SOPs, ERPs, etc.), safety risk management, remote pilot training & certification, UAS preventative/conditional maintenance, and industry standards & best practices. This one-day workshop culminates in a UAS Safety Endorsement from USI. Participants who attend this workshop will also earn education credits towards USI's Professional Remote Operator (PRO) certification.
