Glenair manufactures all of the popular industry-standard rectangular connectors used in military, aerospace and other high reliability applications, including special high-performance versions of the M24308 D-Sub and our revolutionary Series 79 Micro-Crimp connector. We offer a small form factor rectangular connector for virtually every I/O and wire-to-board requirement. All of our rectangular connector products are available with flex circuit terminations, as well as turnkey point-to-point cordsets. The world’s most advanced and mature high-performance ultraminiature connectors, the Series 80 Mighty Mouse matches the electrical and mechanical performance of popular mil-standard connectors, but in a smaller and lighter package for tactical military, aerospace, and soldier-worn electronics. Series 804 Quick-Disconnect and Series 824 Locking Push-Pull versions offer environmental sealing and rugged design in a lightweight, push-pull package used for headsets, radios, weapons and other applications. Tubular braided sleeving meets the broad range of shielding and mechanical protection requirements of aircraft harness assemblies. But the need to apply conductive shielding materials over installed aircraft wire and cable bundles requires new technology. Legacy self-wrapping cable braid has long been available for EMI/RFI applications and abrasion protection, albeit with poor high-frequency shielding performance due to its heavy weight, inflexibility, and windowing. MasterWrap™, a lightweight, easy-to-install, side-entry, selfwrapping shielding solution solves these problems and more. MasterWrap™ is ideally suited for both long-run wire harness protection as well as spot coverage and maintenance of EMC cable applications.
Glenair MasterWrap™ is both a weight reduction technolgy as well as an ease-of-assembly improvement for wire and cable protection. The material offers significant weight savings compared to traditional tin copper and nickel braid, and is already qualified for use at major aircraft manufacturers. MasterWrap™ adds flexibility and repairability capabilities to wire and cable harness applications traditionally shielded with tubular braid — from long runs to spot coverage and repairs.
PCB/Flex Circuit Assemblies are an alternative to standard wire or ribbon cable in electrical wire interconnect systems. Designed to reduce size and weight – and improve reliability – flex circuits utilize thin layers of polymer film as a dielectric sandwiched between conductive circuit patterns etched into layers of copper foil cladding. After connectorization, these flex circuits may be installed directly within an electronic equipment housing as a turnkey sub-assembly.
PCB/flex circuit assemblies solve a myriad of problems for the electrical engineer, including unsurpassed size and weight reduction compared to cable bundles, especially in tight spaces with multi-branch routing. Flex circuitry offers outstanding mechanical performance, and is able to withstand extreme vibration environments and extended duty through thousands of flexing cycles. Replacing complicated wire bundle assemblies with high-density flex assures faster, error-free LRU assembly.
