MEDIA BADGE POLICY + REGISTRATION

It is our pleasure to welcome working members of the media to cover AUVSI XPONENTIAL. To ensure we are providing our exhibitors access to media who are actively covering the show, AUVSI requires media representatives to verify their roles. We have developed the following criteria for a complimentary media badge. If you do not meet these criteria and wish to attend the event, we invite you to register as an attendee.

To qualify for a media badge:

  1. The applicant should demonstrate that they are working media and regularly cover the unmanned systems industry and its vertical markets or a general assignment, business or technology reporter assigned to cover the unmanned systems industry.
  2. Editorial Only: Media representatives must belong to the editorial staff to receive a media badge.
  3. The following media representatives are welcome to attend the show but must register for an XPONENTIAL Hall or Full Conference Pass: advertising sales representatives, commercial producers, marketing staff, promotion companies, public relations, social media and advertising/branding agencies, filmmakers, photographers for hire, and spouses and children.
  4. Personal websites or hobby/enthusiast and personal blogs do not qualify for a media badge.
  5. A history of being registered at previous AUVSI events does not guarantee approval or waive the accreditation requirement. Travel to the show does not guarantee admittance.
  6. The deadline to register online and receive pre-approval is 12 p.m. CDT on Monday, April 23, 2019. After that date, registration will be onsite. All media registrants will be asked to provide the following credentials to qualify for a media badge.

AUVSI XPONENTIAL Media Badge Qualification Criteria:

  • Only media representatives who work in editorial positions are eligible to receive media badges.
  • There are no registration fees for media representatives who meet the qualification criteria.
  • Media representatives are responsible for their travel and lodging.

Vetting Criteria for Pending Media Badge by Category:
All media registrations are reviewed by AUVSI show management prior to the event. Anyone who applies for a media badge must meet the following criteria:

Please provide one (1) of the following credentials for review and consideration by AUVSI XPONENTIAL show management:

  • A scanned copy or link to the news outlet’s masthead indicating your name and title and editorial role.
  • A business card from the news outlet reflecting your editorial role.
  • Media badge indicating your affiliation with the news outlet that was issued by a federal, state or local government or agency.

Freelance and Contributing Writers and Photographers:
Please provide all the following credentials for review and consideration by AUVSI XPONENTIAL show management:

  • A scanned copy or link to original, bylined editorial coverage within the last three months, of the unmanned systems industry.
  • An email or scan of letter from the news outlet’s editor or producer stating that you have been assigned to represent the news organization in an editorial capacity.

  • URL of your website, blog or video (You Tube) channel.
  • Site analytics showing at least 5,000 unique visits per month.
  • Content is original and updated at least weekly.

The website must be previously established with a proven track record showing coverage of the unmanned systems industry for at least one (1) year. The site must be independent from corporate marketing, generate original news coverage of the unmanned systems industry (not a site that is only aggregating content) and updated at least weekly.

Exhibitor Websites and Blogs:
Exhibitors gathering content for their corporate websites and blogs will not be classified as media and will not receive media badges in addition to or in place of exhibitor badges. If taking photos of an exhibitor’s booth, equipment, technology, staff, etc., to accompany blog content, permission from booth staff is required.

Please provide one (1) of the following acceptable credentials for review and consideration by AUVSI XPONENTIAL show management:

  • A business card from the station or network reflecting your editorial role.
  • An email or scanned letter from the news director or assignment editor stating that you have been assigned to represent the news organization in an editorial capacity.
  • Media badge indicating your affiliation with the news outlet that was issued by a federal, state or local government or agency.

Please Note the Following:

  • AUVSI XPONENTIAL show management will approve one publisher per media outlet, but that publisher will need to provide the credentials described above for review and consideration. If the publisher does not have an editorial role and cannot verify an editorial history, they must register for an XPONENTIAL Hall or Full Conference Pass. Any additional publishers from an outlet will need to register for an XPONENTIAL Hall or Full Conference Pass.
  • Self-promoting blogs and blogs that merely aggregate third-party content will not be considered for a media badge. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest sites, forums, crowd sourcing sites and user groups are not considered media credentials.
  • With a media badge, freelance and contributing writers and photographers are not permitted to solicit their services at XPONENTIAL.

On-site Media Registration:
If you choose to register on-site, please bring printed copies of the qualification criteria described above.

The Following On-Site Registrants Will Not Be Provided Media Badges:

  • Freelancers writers and photographers without a specific editorial assignment.
  • Blog writers/owners who do not provide the defined site analytics or have not been covering the unmanned systems industry for at least one (1) year. Hobby/enthusiast and personal blogs do not qualify as media.
  • Requests from without the required credentials described above.
  • Individuals who applied online and were denied a media badge.

Right of Refusal:
AUVSI XPONENTIAL show management reserves the right to deny media badges at their sole discretion. Show management also reserves the right to modify media qualification credentials at any time. Misconduct or misrepresentation of position and/or publication/news organization will bar you and your organization from all future AUVSI events.

By registering for the show, you explicitly consent to receive fax, telephone and email communications from AUVSI under 47 U.S.C. Code 227 and any other applicable regulations.

Travel to the show location does not guarantee admittance.
