Target Arm's device enables launch and recovery by both rotary and fixed wing drones from any moving vehicle, autonomously, and even during windy conditions. Our new commercial product is Tular v3.0, which will be unveiled in October for both military and business customers.

  • Target Arm Inc. officially announces the launch of their first commercial product, Tular v3.0.  Tular enables the launch and recovery of both rotary and fixed wing drones from any moving vehicle (or ship, plane, train, truck, etc.), autonomously, at speeds already over 65mph, and even during windy conditions. In particular, Tular v3.0 enables a dramatic increase in performance from previous prototypes of Tular. Typical On-the-Move applications include defense, package delivery, Oil & Gas, windfarms, energy, border/port protection, DOT inspections and many more.

Of particular note, Tular v3.0 is now a self-contained, battery-operated platform – without reducing any of the very high cycle rates possible. Ryan Bigham, VP/Lead Engineer and our design team have worked very closely with our customers and package delivery strategic partners (Autonodyne and Valqari) to make vast improvements over v2.5.”

    For our customers, the benefits are profound:

    Some of the improvements with Tular v3.0 are:

    • A huge breech volume at 5’x4’x4’ (fully 10x) to accommodate more drones
    • Pins that extend twice as far in half the time (4x)
    • Pins are computer controlled for speed and distance
    • Reliability: Pins have been tested to over 230,000 cycles continuously
    • PCB designs to miniaturize controls and improve reliability
    • 9 computer systems integrated into the computer controls
    • Aircraft grade aluminum infrastructure and exoskeleton
    • Scalability: Tular can be resized smaller or larger, depending on user needs
    • Mobility: Tular can be removed and used on other vehicles (self-contained)

BIB and Target Arm aim to disrupt the food services delivery model by jointly developing autonomous electric delivery vehicles with drones while moving up to highway speeds. BIB Truck is a turnkey Business as a Service (BAAS) enterprise platform through sustainable mobility, bringing name brand fresh food services to consumers on-demand and safely.

    Target Arm's (Tular) device will provide drone launch and recovery from static and moving electric trucks for BIB Technologies’ electric units, on behalf of each food service it serves. Ultimately, the end customers will be able to order and receive ultra-fresh food prepared by their name-brand provider in vastly reduced times, and even at large events in the future as technology advances.

  • Target Arm provides autonomous launch and recovery systems for both rotary and fixed-wing drones, with on-demand drone capability, at-the-ready, up to 65+ miles per hour (mph) windspeed - already demonstrated. As a result, Package Deliverers, the US Postal Service, Oil & Gas firms, Windfarms, Energy firms, all branches of the military, first responders, public health officials and even the National Guard can better meet the urgent demand for drones operations while moving or during windy conditions.

    With actual tests at 65+ mph, Tular, as the world’s first and only universal launch and recovery platform, dramatically enables a single operator to effectively control multiple fixed-wing and rotary-wing UAVs simultaneously and with ease. The patented solution is simple, but elegant, using two counter-opposed pin arrays to launch and recover the UAV in the smooth airstream. These pin arrays are designed to be scalable and modular, allowing Tular v3.0 to operate drones up to 5’x4’x4’ in dimensions. The pins are designed within Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) for fast swap out and repairs, even though Tular’s inherent design has graceful degradation built in.
