
UAS Operators and Activities Now Eligible for
Helicopter Association International Salute to Excellence Awards

Alexandria, Va. (October 6, 2020) – Have you or someone you know made significant achievements using unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)? Then you should consider submitting a nomination for Helicopter Association International’s (HAI’s) Salute to Excellence Awards, which are now open to UAS professionals and operations.
Persons interested in submitting a nomination package need to hurry, however. The deadline for the 2021 awards program is Friday, October 30, 2020. More information about submitting nominations is available on the Salute to Excellence website at rotor.org/Salute
HAI presents awards in nine categories, recognizing significant achievements by individuals or teams. Award recipients are acknowledged for their efforts each year at HAI HELI-EXPO, being held in 2021 in New Orleans, March 22-25, with the show floor open March 23-25.
The nine award categories include:
- Excellence in Communications
- Safety
- W.A. “Dub” Blessing Flight Instructor of the Year
- Law Enforcement
- Humanitarian Service
- Golden Hour (Air Ambulance/Medical)
- Maintenance Excellence
- Pilot of the Year
- Lifetime Achievement
“HAI has long recognized achievements by individuals and teams for work performed in the rotorcraft industry,” says James Viola, president and CEO of HAI. “This year, we also wanted to recognize the efforts of those who are expanding the field of rotorcraft to include drones and UAS vehicles. These industry professionals are producing meaningful work, and we are excited to include them in our awards program.”
