  • NUWAVES ENGINEERING INTRODUCES 20-WATT LSC TRI-BAND BIDIRECTIONAL AMPLIFIER FOR SECURE CDL ISR (SCISR) RADIOS

    Middletown, Ohio, July 27th, 2020 – NuWaves Engineering, an international Radio Frequency (RF) and Microwave solutions provider, announces the release of a tri-band, solid-state, bidirectional amplifier, the NuPower Xtender™ SCISR-20.

    The NuPower Xtender™ LSC Tri-Band Bidirectional Amplifier is a 20-watt amplifier intended to simplify subsystem architecture with a compact form-factor offering in-band andcross-band bidirectional communication for NuPower XtenderTM SCISR-20 improved link margin. Featuring auto-sense T/R capabilities with a 2-μs switching speed, the SCISR-20 automatically detects whether it is in transmit or receive mode in each channel, independent of the operational modes of the other channels.

    This amplifier is designed to support secure CDL ISR (SCISR) software-defined radio communications as an easy-to-integrate addition to any ground or airborne terminal. While the SCISR-20 is designed to support these SCISR radios specifically, it can be used in any application requiring amplification in L-, S-, and C-band and can be customized for specific use-cases and unique requirements.

    Small, compact, and rugged, the SCISR-20 is designed and built to last in the harshest of environments. Furthermore, NuWaves Engineering’s commitment to maintaining our AS9100D quality management system guarantees full materials traceability and quality accountability.

  • NuPower™ 12B01A L- & S-Band Power Amplifier
    The NuPower™ 12B01A L- & S-Band Power Amplifier provides up to 50% module efficiency, delivering at least 10 watts of RF power for CW and near-constant-envelope waveforms in the L- and S-band frequencies of 1.0 GHz to 2.5 GHz, from a very small package....

  • The NuPower module accepts a nominal 0 dBm input drive level from the transmitter/transceiver and provides 40 dB of gain to generate at least 10 watts, and typically 18 watts, across the entire operating band.

    With a small form factor (3.9 cubic inches) and high efficiency operation (30% to 50%) based on state-of-the-art Gallium Nitride (GaN) power amplifier device technology, the NuPower L- & S-Band PA module is ideal for broadband RF telemetry and military communication systems that require reliability and minimal size, weight, and power consumption (SWaP).

    All NuPower PAs come standard with a Micro-D connector with 18″ flying leads for interfacing to the unit. Available options for the PA include a +30 dBm / 1 W input drive level version (P/N: NW-PA-12B01A-D30), a fan-cooled heat sink, and an interface cable with banana plug terminations for lab testing.

  • The NuPower™ C20R01 C-Band Power Amplifier is a small, broadband, high performance, solid state power amplifier that delivers over 20 watts of RF power from 4.4 to 4.9 GHz, to boost signal power levels of data links and transmitters for communications range extension, electronic warfare (e.g. electronic attack), etc.

    The NuPower C20R01 accepts a nominal 0 dBm (1 mW) RF input and provides 43 dB of gain from 4.4 GHz to 4.9 GHz for continuous wave (CW) and near-constant-envelope waveforms.

    Based on the latest gallium nitride (GaN) technology, the NuPower C20R01’s 15% – 30% power
    efficiency and <10 in3 form factor make it ideal for size, weight, and power-constrained broadband RF telemetry, tactical communication systems, and electronic warfare systems.

    NuPower PAs feature over-voltage protection and can operate over a wide temperature range of -40 °C to +60 °C (baseplate).

    All NuPower PAs come standard with a Micro-D cable assembly with 18″ flying leads for interfacing to the unit. Also available is an accessory kit which includes a 28 VDC fan-cooled heat sink with requisite power cable, and an upgraded module interface cable with banana plug terminations for lab testing.

    The NuPower Xtender™ C15RX01 Bidirectional C-Band Amplifier module is a small, broadband, high-performance RF amplifier that generates 15 Watts (minimum) of RF power across the C-Band frequency range of 4400 to 4900 MHz....

  • The NuPower Xtender C15RX01 C-Band RF bidirectional amplifier is ideal for extending the communication range of half-duplex transceivers with constant-envelope waveforms (i.e. PSK- and FSK-based modulations, such as SOQPSK and GFSK), and generates 15 Watts of RF transmit power. In receive mode, the NuPower Xtender offers a low noise figure of 3.5 dB and a low noise amplifier that provides 10 dB of gain. The module accepts a nominal +0 dBm input level and provides a minimum of 43 dB of transmit gain, all while operating with 35% or better power efficiency at most frequencies.

    The NuPower Xtender features manual transmit / receive (T/R) mode selection, coupled with an extremely fast T/R mode switch time of 2 μS.

    With a small form factor (17.6 cubic inches) and state-of-the-art Gallium Nitride (GaN) power amplifier device technology, the NuPower Xtender Bidirectional C-Band PA module is ideal for broadband RF telemetry and communication systems that require reliability and minimal size, weight, and power consumption (SWaP).

  • NuPower Xtender™ VU4GX02 VHF/UHF Bidirectional Amp
    The NuPower Xtender™ VU4GX02 VHF/UHF Bidirectional Amplifier module generates 16 watts of saturated RF power and 4 watts linear across the 225 to 512 MHz frequency range....

  • The NuPower Xtender VU4GX02 is ideal for extending the communication range of half-duplex transceivers with constant-envelope waveforms (i.e. PSK- and FSK-based modulations, such as SOQPSK and GFSK), and generates 16 Watts of RF transmit power (4 W linear). The module accepts a +5 dBm input level and provides 35 dB of transmit gain, all while operating with 30% or better power efficiency at most frequencies. In receive mode, the NuPower Xtender offers a low noise figure of 3.5 dB and incorporates a low noise amplifier that provides 15 dB of gain.

    The NuPower Xtender VHF/UHF bidirectional amplifier features manual transmit/receive (T/R) mode selection, coupled with an extremely fast T/R mode switch time of 2 μS.

    With a small form factor (3.8 cubic inches) and state-of-the-art Gallium Nitride (GaN) power amplifier device technology, the NuPower Xtender VHF/UHF Bidirectional Amplifier module is ideal for broadband RF telemetry and communication systems that require reliability and minimal size, weight, and power consumption (SWaP).
