Standards for Unmanned Aircraft Systems
Thursday, October 08, 2020: 3:00 PM - 3:45 PM
Voluntary consensus standards are key to supporting innovation in an emerging technology area like unmanned aircraft systems. They serve as a vital adjunct to the public policy framework and help to ensure the safe integration of UAS into the national airspace. Coordination of standardization activities is also critical to focus resources and avoid duplication of effort. This panel discussion will include an update by experts from prominent standards organizations on work in progress to support UAS integration and the growth of the UAS industry. All of the individuals are representing organizations that are contributing to an update of the Standardization Roadmap for UAS developed by the ANSI Unmanned Aircraft Systems Standardization Collaborative, a coordinating body.
