Seeding a Blue sUAS Industry
Tuesday, October 06, 2020: 1:50 PM - 2:35 PM
Defense Innovation Unit works to accelerate commercial technology into the Department of Defense and its Blue sUAS (small unmanned aerial system) program, leveraging the US Army’s Small Range Reconnaissance Unmanned Aerial System project’s existing prototype development to develop a common quadcopter platform that can scale and meet the needs of the other Services, combatant commands, and other US governmental organizations. This summer marks the final production decision for fielding. In addition, a related effort focused on UAS architecture will deliver a trusted source of UAS components which will reduce the overall price of the quadcopters and increase their ease of use via commercial best practices. Attend this panel to learn about how the DoD and its commercial performers were successful in seeding a Blue sUAS Industry.
