Effective UAS Use Today and Tomorrow Through an Ecosystem Approach
Wednesday, October 07, 2020: 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM
DescriptionDrones offer incredible potential to perform long linear inspections cost effectively and safely, but challenges remain. Leveraging the capabilities of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in a dynamic commercial environment is heavily dependent upon coordination between the UAS operator, end user of the information gathered, and federal stakeholders. This session will examine effective applications of UAS through the lens of a real world linear inspection use case and explore how operators can effectively coordinate with different entities within their ecosystems, including federal officials, to achieve desirable UAS operations today. This session will also discuss how to scale these operations from limited to routine in the National Airspace System.
