Profile
Christian Ramsey is President of uAvionix Corporation. Founded in 2015, uAvionix sought to develop aviation-grade miniaturized communications, navigation, and surveillance (CNS) avionics for safe integration of UAS into the National Airspace Systems (NAS). uAvionix products can be found in leading UAS on the market today including platforms from Wing, DJI, Insitu, L3Harris Latitude, Airbus, and Boeing. With this same miniaturized technology, uAvionix have disrupted the General Aviation ADS-B avionics industry with the introduction of skyBeacon, tailBeacon, and tailBeaconX – TSO certified ADS-B OUT “bolt on” solutions which integrate GPS, ADS-B, Baro, and lighting into a wingtip position light replacement. uAvionix continues to expand its portfolio of unmanned and manned avionics to include GPS receivers, cockpit displays, Mode 5 IFF, and Command and Control (C2) radio hardware and services.
Ramsey is currently a member of the FAA’s Drone Advisory Committee, Nav Canada’s Remote Traffic Management Action Team (RTMAT), the UK and EASA Electronic Conspicuity Working Group (ECWG), and NBAA’s Emerging Technology Committee (ETC). Ramsey holds a B.S. in Computer Science from James Madison University, an Executive MBA from George Mason University, an FAA Private Pilot License as well as a UAS Part 107 License.
