Profile
Dr. Druce is a researcher in the areas of machine learning and artificial intelligence with a focus on deep learning, causal modeling and reinforcement learning. His primary research goal lies in making AIs deployable in the wild. He is a principal investigator on several artificial intelligence projects, including DARPA's Explainable AI (XAI) and Competency Aware Machine Learning (CAML) programs. The cumulative goal of these programs is to transition highly performant AI systems from peripheral black-box tools, to trusted partners whose functionality and competencies are well understood.
