Profile
Craig Perciavalle is President of Austal USA, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Australian shipbuilding company, Austal Limited. Mr. Perciavalle leads a rapidly growing organization of nearly 4,000 shipbuilding professionals providing state-of-the-art high-speed ships to the U.S. Navy.
With over 25 years in the shipbuilding and ship repair industry, Mr. Perciavalle held various leadership positions over both commercial and government programs before coming to Austal in November 2007 as Director of Operations. He was named Vice President of Operations in 2008, then Senior Vice President of Shipyard Operations before being appointed President in December 2012.
Under his leadership, the company has experienced significant process and facility growth resulting in being one of the most advanced ship manufacturing facilities in the country; investing over $418 million to construct a facility that now totals approximately 1 million square feet of indoor manufacturing space. In addition, under his tenure, employment growth has been significant, increasing total employment by over 3,300 since late 2009 to approximately 4,000 employees today. During that same time, Austal USA has been nationally recognized numerous times by the Shipbuilders Council of America with its Excellence in Safety Award and by the American Longshore Mutual Association as Best Large Shipyard for safety. Austal USA is also a three-time recipient of the Manufacturer of the Year Award from the Business Council of Alabama.
Currently, Mr. Perciavalle serves on the Board of Advisors for the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce and the Business Council of Alabama. He is also a member of the Navy League of the United States.
Mr. Perciavalle graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering Systems from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and served eight years as a commissioned officer in the United States Naval Reserve.
