Profile
Ashley Hanson currently works for John Deere as a Product Engineer at their Intelligent Solutions Group. In May 2020, Ashley earned a Master of Science in Unmanned Systems with a concentration in Aviation / Aerospace Research from Embry-Riddle Worldwide. Ashley earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and minors in Business Administration, Finance, and Unmanned Aircraft Systems from Embry-Riddle Daytona in December 2018. Ashley is passionate about unmanned systems, especially unmanned ground vehicles, and unmanned aircraft. Her current role in the agricultural field is allowing her to fulfill her dream of helping to fix the growing epidemic of food source shortages by employing unmanned systems. In September 2019, Ashley has passed her AUVSI Trusted Operator Program (TOP) 1, 2, and 3 level certifications, becoming the first female and youngest from Embry-Riddle to complete all three. She also has a co-published paper on using unmanned aircraft to create three-dimensional NDVI point clouds of HLB infected trees. Her aviation certifications include a Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, which has been held for 3 years and a Private with Instrument ASEL rating. Aside from work and school, Ashley enjoys learning to build different unmanned systems, flying them, and conducting research in various applications of unmanned systems. She also enjoys hammock hangs, reading, the beach, and being outside. If anyone has any other questions or would like to collaborate with her on research opportunities, feel free to email her at Ashley.a.hanson7@gmail.com.
