Profile
Blake Stringer is an associate professor in the College of Aeronautics & Engineering at Kent State University. His research includes UAS propulsion scalability and unmanned aircraft traffic management with funded work from the Department of Defense. Before joining the faculty at Kent State, Blake retired from the Army as a lieutenant colonel, serving 20 years as an army aviator and research engineer. Prior to his military retirement, Blake served as the Army Research Laboratory’s vehicle propulsion division chief, directing the Army’s basic and applied research of engine and drive-system technologies. He has one combat tour in Iraq. His military aviation ratings include both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, and he holds a commercial pilot’s license. Blake earned a doctorate in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the University of Virginia. He holds a master of science in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech, and a bachelor of science in aerospace engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
