David is V.P. of Business Development for Dataspeed, where he is working to expand their business in Autonomous Vehicle technology. He is a past developer of autonomous and active safety systems, previously leading advanced engineering groups for both Continental Automotive and Hyundai-Mobis North America. David began his career in the aerospace industry creating fly-by-wire control systems for defense fighter aircraft.
He served on the Board of Directors for AUVSI from 2013 to 2020 and is currently on the advisory board for Oakland University’s School of Engineering and Computer Science. He has supported multiple government-industry collaborations in the promotion of advanced safety systems and autonomous vehicles including appointment to the National Research Council of the National Academies’ Federal Advisory Committee on the topic of joint EU-US autonomous research topics (2014-15). He received his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
