Profile
Travis Calendine is the Emergency Management Coordinator and the Public Safety Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Program Manager for the Town of Little Elm, Texas. Travis started the Town's public safety UAS program in 2016. He has been on numerous UAS operations around the region, providing UAS support for local and regional disasters and emergencies. Also, he has provided guidance on how to establish a public safety UAS program. Travis is the current chair for the North Central Council of Governments UAS working group. The UAS working group improves unmanned aerial system response operations in North Texas by providing a forum for regional partners to discuss concerns and develop solutions regarding the complexity of UAS operations. The group also focuses on assisting jurisdictional UAS program development, collaboration on regional policies, airspace coordination, technology implementation, and regional training standards.Travis is the public safety member for the North Central Council of Governments Regional UAS Task Force that focuses on education, training, integration, and legislation. Travis is a member of the Texas Unmanned Aircraft Study Group to develop a UAS response and recovery program for state disasters and emergencies.
