Andrew Guion is an aerospace engineer with the FAA’s Small Airplane Standards Branch in the Policy & Innovation Division. He is helping the agency develop design requirements and policy for type certification of UAS, with the goal of establishing appropriately tailored design criteria applicable to different types of aircraft systems and operations.
Prior to his current role, Andrew held engineering positions with the Air Force that involved acquisitions, flight test and sustainment of medium and high altitude UAS. He also has civil certification experience with transport category airplanes. He has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Temple University and a private pilot license.
