Tim Martin is currently a Police Captain with 26-years of law enforcement experience and is the UAS Program Manager for the Huntington Beach Police Department. He has dedicated himself to the development, research, testing and education in the UAS public safety industry. The UAS program under his management has 14 team members and uses multiple UAS platforms in a patrol setting, special events, and coastal operations. With innovative custom made equipment and live streaming capabilities, the HBPD UAS program is cutting edge and operates with safety as a priority. Recently, the team obtained the first Flight over Human Waiver in California, using a parachute system.
Tim is also the Director of UAS Training with the Los Angeles Regional Training Center, where he leads a professional team of public safety professional in training hundreds of police and fire UAS teams from all over the state. Tim is an Advisory Board Member for Droneresponders Public Safety Alliance and a UAS subject matter expert for the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
