Jane Bishop is the vice president and general manager of the Autonomous Systems division at Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector, a premier provider of military aircraft, autonomous systems, aerospace structures and next generation solutions.
In this role, Bishop oversees all autonomous systems programs, including the U.S. Air Force RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned aircraft system (UAS); U.S. Navy MQ-4C Triton UAS; NATO Alliance Ground Surveillance; Firebird Optionally Piloted Vehicle; and MQ-8 Fire Scout System.
Most recently, Bishop was vice president and program manager, Manned Airborne Surveillance Programs, overseeing the E-2 Hawkeye franchise, E-8C Joint STARS and Airborne Laser Mine Detection (ALMDS) programs under the Military Aircraft Systems division. This is a broad portfolio of programs that includes design, development, production and sustainment efforts for both domestic and international customers.
During the E-2D System Design and Development effort, Bishop worked extensively on Advanced Hawkeye radar development activities where she contributed to the successful design, development and test of systems that positioned the E-2D as a vital node in the customer’s Naval Integrated Fire Control capability.
Jane joined Northrop Grumman in 1986 as an antenna and radio frequency equipment design engineer working on the U.S. Navy E-2 Hawkeye and C-2 Greyhound programs. She advanced into positions of increasing responsibility, adding U.S. Air Force E-8C Joint STARS and U.S. Navy ALMDS to her portfolio in 2018.
Bishop is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. She also completed the Harvard Business School Professional Leadership Development Program. The Long Island Software and Technology Network honored her as their 2011 Diamond Award Winner, recognizing Long Island women who have made significant contributions in the software and technology professions.
