National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB)

Profile

Aaron Sauer, a Senior Air Safety Investigator in the NTSB's Central Region, has been with the NTSB for 20 years and has completed more than 600 accident investigations. He has been the investigator-in-charge of numerous high-profile aviation accidents involving both general aviation and commercial aircraft, and a pilot with the NTSB UAS program. In 2006 and 2014, he received the NTSB's Investigator of the Year Award. Mr. Sauer received his Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management from the University of Wisconsin and Master of Aeronautical Science degree in Operations Management/Safety from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is an avid fixed-wing and UAS pilot and loves the outdoors.
