  • BEAVERTON, Ore., June 25, 2020 – Mobile Power Solutions, a leading battery testing/certification lab and battery pack assembler, today announced it earned AS9100D/ISO 9001:2015 certification. ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system. Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. AS9100D is an extension of ISO 9001:2015 processes to satisfy the more challenging requirements for the design, development and manufacturing of aviation, space and defense products. Mobile Power Solutions is certified to manufacture and test batteries for the commercial and aerospace industry with this certification.

    UN § 38.3 TESTING

    The U.S. Department of Transportation regulates shipment of lithium and lithium-ion cells and batteries. Shipping generally requires certification that the cells or batteries passed UN § 38.3 Testing. Tests include altitude simulation, thermal cycling, vibration, mechanical shock, external short-circuit, impact, overcharge and forced discharge.

    IEC 62133 TESTING

    International safety certification for rechargeable cells and batteries is available because MPS is a CB Testing Laboratory, offering International safety certification for rechargeable cells and batteries. MPS performs the testing and UL Demko provides the national certification mark. The CB Scheme allows companies to enter international markets. We can help you to meet the special requirements for Korea, Australia, Russia, Canada and India.

    RTCA DO-227 AND DO-311 TESTING

    The Federal Aviation Administration requires certification to DO-227 for lithium and DO-311 for lithium-ion cells and batteries installed on aircraft. Testing is witnessed by an FAA Designated Engineering Representative. MPS serves on the committee drafting the replacement to DO-311.
