Description

As UTM continues to mature, the technology necessary to support this growth are critical for operations at scale within this new ecosystem.  Hear from a panel of experts about the UTM system as it matures to accommodate the growth of the system and its users. Switch, ANRA Technologies, and the Nevada Institute for Autonomous Systems (NIAS) will discuss key findings and future implications from their recently successful FAA BAA 1 UTM research project.  In this session, Switch, ANRA, and NIAS will explore the future of the UTM through a digital infrastructure lens. Switch and its partners created an isolated UTM system, deployed in a hybrid cloud environment, successfully identifying UTM system requirements at scale, shedding light on data storage requirements, required network capacity and the design of the architecture capable of support hundreds of thousands of UAS. Switch successfully simulated 50,000 simultaneous connections to the UTM and conducted live BVLOS operations from the Switch SIGHT Command center in Las Vegas, NV with UAS flying 450 miles away in Reno, NV. Gain unique insights into the study by hearing from experts on the ground who designed and challenged the IT infrastructure while supporting thousands of drones simultaneously.
