Profile

Dr. Zachary Peterson is Head of Autonomous Vehicle Security at WhiteFox Defense Technologies, a leader in airspace security, and an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He has a technical background in applied cryptography and storage systems, as well as a strong interest in cybersecurity and computer science outreach and education. He severed as a technical lead for security on the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Remote ID standards body and has been invited to speak about drone security across the world, including at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the specialized agency of the United Nations charged with governing international air travel. He is a Cybersecurity Policy Fellow at New America, a Fulbright Scholar, and the recipient of multiple National Science Foundation awards to support cybersecurity education.
