 Press Releases

  • Patria has been awarded a contract for the delivery of Patria Sonac ACS Acoustic Minesweeping Systems to the Royal Norwegian Navy by the Norwegian Defence Material Agency (NDMA). This contract is a very important milestone in Patria’s strategic efforts to become one of the leading companies providing underwater and maritime intelligence and surveillance solutions, especially in the Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Maritime Mine Counter Measures (MMCM) domains. The new state-of-the-art minesweeping product further strengthens Patria’s naval product portfolio and improves the company’s competitiveness and position in the global MMCM market. Patria Sonac ACS utilizes Patria’s patented sound source technology offering unprecedented acoustic performance over a wide frequency spectrum fully supporting Mine Setting, Target Simulation, and Mine Jamming modes of operation. The innovative design allows accurate reproduction of true pre-recorded or synthesized submerged or surface target signatures making it highly efficient against modern intelligent influence sea mines. Thanks to its compact size, Patria Sonac ACS is especially well suited for future lightweight autonomous multi-influence minesweeping systems. ”We are very proud to provide the Royal Norwegian Navy with world class capability as the critical part of their future naval minesweeping toolbox. The development of Patria Sonac ACS is based on Patria’s long-term experience and know-how in the design and development of acoustic sweeping gear and multi-influence sea mines”, says Jonas Geust, President of Patria’s Systems Business Unit.
  • Transparency International Defence & Security has published the Defence Companies Anti-Corruption Index (DCI) 2020 results, according to which Patria was ranked in the second-highest category B. Based on public information, the companies were evaluated on a scale of A–F, with A being the best. Patria has been cooperating with Transparency International during the different phases of the survey and appreciates the work they do in promoting transparency and anti-corruption measures. “We are pleased with the result - Patria achieved its goal. We are a responsible operator in the defence sector developing systematically the various areas of Corporate Social Responsibility. Our principal focus has been on highlighting transparency, importance of ethical operating methods and anti-bribery measures. Our entire personnel participate in regular online trainings and we have also promoted ethical operation in our subcontracting chain. Corporate Social Responsibility is a broad field that requires continuous development in all sectors. Our operating environment is constantly changing, which requires active and continuous CSR development work,” says Patria's President and CEO Esa Rautalinko. The DCI sets standards for transparency, accountability and anti-corruption programmes in the defence sector. Transparency analysed what companies are publicly committing to in terms of their openness, policies and procedures. The DCI 2020 assessed 134 of the world’s leading defence companies across 38 countries. Link to the study: https://ti-defence.org/dci/

  • CANDL is a compact airborne networking data link for communications requiring high reliability, such as UAS payload data and C2. It enables air-to-air and air-to-ground Ad Hoc Networking as well as relaying for BLOS capability, thus enabling capabilities such as MUMT - Manned UnManned Teaming and LVC – Live Virtual Constructive training. CANDL covers NATO IV C-band as well as WRC 2012 defined civil UAS C2 frequency band in single housing enabling both military and civil UAS applications. Networking and range performance can be further extended with optional external High Power Amplifier module. CANDL is applicable to MUMT and LVC usage. Characteristics enabling these applications include secure Command and Control for UAV platforms, payload and missiles, distribution of situational awareness through networked data transfer for fighters, multi-platform and swarming capability, force multiplier in hostile environment as well as real-time communication through ad-hoc IP-network.

  • MUSCL is a passive radar system providing resilient, covert and easily deployable air surveillance in standalone mode as well as in networked mode. The system provides affordable area and point surveillance for various applications, such as military air surveillance, border control, critical infrastructure protection and drone detection. The system exploits external broadcasting signals as illuminators of opportunity. It does not produce a single footprint making it practically invisible for adversaries’ signal intelligence and anti-radiation missiles as well as enabling safe deployments and use in urban areas. With multistatic operation geometry and lower operating frequencies than used by conventional air surveillance radars, MUSCL can detect stealth and small targets providing early warning capability. Exploitation of dense network of broadcasting signals enables detection of low altitude targets.

  • ARIS is a remote operable ELINT system for interception and analysis of modern and increasingly complex signal environment. ARIS is used for technical signal analysis needed in gathering strategic information on radars and building emitter libraries. ARIS combines all ELINT functionalities: search spectrum, real-time spectrum analyser, real-time oscilloscope, pulse analyser, modulation analyser direction finding and wideband recorder with playback and offline analysis capabilities. All the functionalities can be accessed and operated either locally at a sensor station or remotely from an operating center. The system can be used manually for detailed signal analysis or it can run predefined surveillance tasks autonomously to record signals for later analysis. Analysis results are input to the ELINT database.
