The Automated Goods Movement Summit will tackle critical questions central to the continued safe deployment of commercial automated vehicle technologies specifically designed to move goods. Panel discussions will focus on cross-cutting issues such as public perception of ADS, productive workforce development initiatives, women in tech, and timely updates from federal agencies including the NTSB, NHTSA, and FMCSA. Complementing the discussions will be an indoor/outdoor technology demonstration area designed to facilitate continued conversations next to and within the tech itself.

When Does a Vehicle Become the Driver?

Panelists will tackle the question of jurisdiction around how to treat an autonomy stack when it functions as a driver – does the state government regulate or their federal counterparts, and what is the benchmark standard?

What Does the Commercialization of Automated Trucking Look Like? - Part 1

This panel will paint the picture for attendees of how the widescale deployment of automated trucks will affect the entire domestic supply chain ecosystem – Tier 1’s, small to large trucking companies, suppliers, and more.

An Agreeable Argument: Aligning Around Safety Cases

This panel will share how a UL 4600-based safety case and accompanying safety performance indicators can help the AV industry and stakeholders coalesce around a consistent framework to define, measure, and communicate AV safety.

This panel will highlight unique and promising partnerships between automated goods movement developers and clients/end-users/technology enablers.

How Do State Governments Approach AVs?

This conversation will outline how different representatives of state government – legislators, DOTs, and the Governor’s office – approach the testing and deployment of automated vehicles and particularly automated freight.

Regulatory Forecast with the FMCSA

This conversation will provide a direct forum with federal safety regulators considering recent regulatory action and projected action to come.
