Beginner: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Advanced: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
BEGINNER COURSE: This pre-conference session is designed as a “hands-on” introductory session for those interested in drone repair and maintenance. Sessions will review tools required for a drone repair workspace, how to use the tools, and safety overviews for safe tool usage. Once tools are reviewed, attendees will be trained on methods of component attachment, and direction will be provided for soldering, wiring, and currents. Attendees will learn the basic architecture of unmanned systems, the common schematics for subsystems, and how the components are programmed to work together. Finally, power, wiring, and direct current (DC) electronics will be reviewed.
ADVANCED COURSE: This pre-conference session is designed as a “hands-on” intermediate session for those interested in drone repair and maintenance (attendees should have experience or training in tools, fasteners, soldering, common unmanned system architecture, and DC electronics). Sessions will review basic aerodynamic theory, power, propulsion, and sensors. Hands-on DIY drone repair will be reviewed and attendees will attempt to repair actual systems. The limits of commercial system repair will be reviewed prior to demonstrating repair techniques for commercial proprietary systems. Finally, record keeping and documentation will be reviewed.
