In this senior role, Cassidy supports technical and engineering development efforts for the business, and helps Amazon reach successful regulatory and policy outcomes in support of the safe deployment of the Prime Air delivery model.

Prior to joining Amazon, Cassidy was the First Vice President and National Safety Coordinator of the Air Line Pilots Association International, or ALPA. In this capacity, he was the senior executive in charge of all safety and technical programs in support of over 52,000 commercial airline pilots at 32 different airlines in the United States and Canada.

Cassidy has provided testimony multiple times to the US Congress, served in a number of senior aviation industry advisory positions, including the FAA NextGen Advisory Committee, and was appointed by the US Secretary of Homeland Security to serve on the Aviation Security Advisory Council. He currently serves as the industry co-chair of the RTCA UAS Airspace Access Task Group reporting to the FAA’s Drone Advisory Committee and Subcommittee.

A trained pilot, Cassidy has over 10,000 hours of flight time and has occupied a number of leadership positions in his nearly three decades in military and commercial aviation. Cassidy’s aviation career began in 1986 when he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy, and subsequently received his wings as a Naval Aviator. He flew carrier based missions as an EA-6B pilot/mission commander and instructor pilot, and later flew the DC-9 in worldwide logistics operations in support of naval fleet operations.
