Kwasi Fraser

Profile

Mayor Kwasi Fraser was born in Guyana and migrated to the United States at the age of 11 with his parents and four siblings. In recent years, Fraser has contributed his knowledge and expertise to strengthen the relationship between the United States and Guyana.

Fraser’s distinguished corporate career includes significant bottom line contributions at AT&T, Sprint Nextel, Marriott International, and Verizon. He has successfully managed a portfolio of global network integration deals valued in the hundreds of millions, and deployed a nationwide wireless long distance network for the second largest wireless service provider in the United States. As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, he provides leadership in operational efficiency, cost savings, and revenue growth

Fraser has led efforts to successfully maintain Purcellville's stellar credit ratings of AAA by Standard & Poor’s. Under Mayor Fraser's leadership the Town of Purcellville increased its non-tax revenue, reduced its debt by over $6 Million, restructured utility debt to achieve millions in payment reduction, and welcomed over 200 new businesses. Mayor Fraser also established a public private partnership to transform a distressed former maintenance facility into Western Loudoun County’s first Makerspace and manufacturing incubator. In 2019, Fraser was appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) Transportation & Infrastructure Services Federal Advocacy Committee, partnering with America’s 19,000 cities, towns and villages. Mayor Fraser was appointed to represent the Town of Purcellville on the NLC unmanned air mobility forum.
In 2021, Fraser was appointed by EPA Administrator, Michael Regan, to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Small Communities Advisory Subcommittee of the Local Government Advisory Committee.

Mayor Fraser initiated and is championing a strategy to deploy fiber broadband to each home and business in Purcellville.
