SMART RUGGED SSDs employ current and next-generation defense-focused designs with physical ruggedization, conformal coating, HW-based erase triggers on each end of the drives. Utilizing Flash technology backed with proven world-class support, SMART RUGGED designs and manufactures high performance military and industrial SSDs with military standard encryption, secure data elimination and write-protect features.
SMART Modular Technologies’ T5PF and T5PFLC 2.5″ and M.2 2280 SATA solid state drives (SSDs) deliver high performance, high capacity storage solutions optimized for commercial, industrial and other applications requiring durable and secure storage.
The T5PF and T5PFLC also comes equipped with FIPS 140-2 encryption capabilities. Powered by a flexible flash controller, T5PFLC SSDs provide sustained Read/Write performance to meet the needs of high throughput database applications, as well as transactional and boot and load applications.
T5PF and T5PFLC SSDs offer up to 2TB of storage using 3D TLC NAND Flash. They are more reliable, offer superior performance, and require less power and cooling than traditional hard disk drives (HDDs)
SMART’s RUGGED M4 2.5” SATA solid state drives (SSDs) combine high performance, superior reliability and data security into a single ruggedized design, making them the ideal solutions for ground and air defense, industrial automation, transportation, medical and telecommunication applications. The SMART M4 is designed to meet the needs of applications where temperature tolerances are as important as high performance and reliability. A robust set of diagnostic information is provided through SSD-specific S.M.A.R.T attributes which can be used to monitor the health of the drives.
The M4 features two HW-based erase triggers, one on each end of the drives. In addition, the SATA connect has 30 micro inches of gold plating for a more reliable connection. The M4 is also available with staking, conformal coating, specialty firmware and extended burn in, if needed. The M4 automatically protects all data written with AES 256-bit encryption. Also included is the Security Erase feature per the ATA-8 specification whereby the encryption key will be deleted in less than one second. The M4 features the write-protect feature.
