Description

CAAMS aims to solve challenging problems in advanced air mobility through its participating faculty from six research universities: CU Boulder, BYU, Texas A&M, U Michigan, Virginia Tech and Penn State. Members join CAAMS to accelerate AAM through fundamental and applied research projects that move the industry forward. This workshop will share some of the early outcomes of CAAMS research but also review past achievements of the NSF Center for UAS that inspired CAAMS. Attendees will be asked, “what are your greatest AAM challenges?” to open a dialogue with faculty researchers and CAAMS members regarding industry pains. A value proposition canvas will be used as an interactive tool to solicit feedback.

Learning Objectives:

  • Introduce CAAMS to a new audience
  • Solicit and create a list of “pains” felt by the AAM community
  • Create a list of “gain creators” in the product segment to partially complete a value proposition canvas
  • Suggest CAAMS “products” that realize gains for the customer

Agenda:

  • 15 minutes: Intro to IUCRC, CAAMS, past performance of CUAS
  • 15 minutes: Current projects with focused research areas
  • 5 minutes: Overview of the value proposition canvas
  • 5 minutes: Present virtual post-it notes on screen for VPC related to Challenge area #1 - Customer segment pains, gains and jobs to be done
  • 5 minutes: Panelists discuss how the “product segment” of research can address the jobs to be done
  • 5 minutes: Present virtual post-it notes on screen for VPC related to Challenge area #2 - Customer segment pains, gains and jobs to be done
  • 5 minutes: Panelists discuss how the “product segment” of research can address the jobs to be done
  • 5 minutes: Present virtual post-it notes on screen for VPC related to Challenge area #3 - Customer segment pains, gains and jobs to be done
  • 5 minutes: Panelists discuss how the “product segment” of research can address the jobs to be done
  • 10 minutes: Summarize capabilities of CAAMS after exercise
