As flights become increasingly autonomous the current operating modes of Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) will not be adequate to enable their routine operation in civil airspace. This panel will examine the integration challenges and a potential path toward routine airspace integration of autonomous flight. Digital Flight is a Concept for a New Operating Mode that will enable flexibility through all aviation applications. Automation and connectivity are the key concepts that can be applied to multiple domains and use cases. This panel will bring together industry perspectives from General Aviation, Regional Air Mobility, and Urban Air Mobility.
