The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has developed a series of tests for sUAS that can be used to objectively evaluate drone capabilities and remote pilot proficiency. The test lanes apply to Open, Obstructed, and Confined environments, and are scalable to evaluate Sensors from various altitudes. All XPONENTIAL attendees are welcome to visit the NIST Test Lanes presented by DRONERESPONDERS live in the outdoor demonstration area. FAA Part 107-certified remote pilots may fly the course with their commercial VTOL aircraft weighing under 10 lbs.
Drones have become valuable situational awareness tools, but manually piloted drones still require heavy training. Skydio Autonomy™ has the skills of an expert pilot. It uses AI to understand the world around it and predict into the future to make intelligent decisions. These Skydio demos will show you how our autonomous navigation and capture capabilities can help you gather high quality data safer and faster.
Existing weather models do not accurately predict fog, high fog, thunderstorms, and icing due to insufficient measurement data in the mid and lower levels of the atmosphere. The Meteodrone is a mobile weather station that can be flown up to 20,000 ft with a waiver to fill in these gaps for BVLOS and large drone operations.
