Kevin "Lucky" Fallico

Profile

Kevin ‘Lucky’ Fallico is the Sr Program Manager at Nevada Institute for Autonomous Systems (NIAS). NIAS operates the State of Nevada’s FAA-designated UAS Test Site. NIAS’ primary mission is to assist the FAA in integrating UAS into the National Airspace System. NIAS served as the operational arm of Switch on the FAA BAA Contract. As such, NIAS planned and executed all aspects of the live fly portion of BAA and was integral to the development and integration of the Switch developed UTM architecture.

Kevin has 25+ years leadership and flying experience in manned and unmanned aviation. He has a distinct vision of the future of autonomy and unmanned aviation. He joins NIAS after a distinguished United States Air Force (USAF) career and years in the private sector as a Government Contractor and a founding member of a drone startup.

Kevin retired from military service after more than 20 years as an Air Force officer and aviator. As an aviator, he has over 2500 hours as a Navigator/Electronic Warfare Office/Weapons System Officer flying the RC-135 Rivet Joint and F-16 Fighting Falcon and the RQ-170 Sentinel as a Pilot & Mission Crew Commander. He is a Distinguished Graduate of the USAF Weapons School.

After retirement, Kevin worked for a government contractor building their West Coast Regional Office. After a short period, he joined the startup, AviSight, as a founding member and VP of Operations. Kevin led all aspects of AviSight’s manned and unmanned flight ops including training and currency, scheduling, recruitment, safety and the transition of manned to unmanned operations. His oversight extended to the leadership of AviSight’s state-of-the-art and one-of-a-kind Mission Control Center and data distribution hub.
