Profile

Mr. Davis is a 40-year veteran of the aviation industry, the past decade spent leading NASA innovative research, companies and states in the implementation of complex UAS operations in package delivery, infrastructure inspection and remote sensing. Mr. Davis now leads Aerial Vantage Inc. as its CEO and President where his team is focused on scaling UAS operations statewide and ultimately nationwide to conduct remote sensing for agriculture, forestry, natural resources and emergency response. Aerial Vantage also offers its Accelerate SaaS platform to address the challenges of data management of the massive amounts of data that can be acquired from drone operations. Previously, he spent five years as the Vice President of Science and Research Programs at Crown Consulting Inc. where he successfully transformed Crown into a world leader in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) concepts, implementation and market studies including support for state DOTs implementation of groundbreaking UAS and AAM concepts. In North Carolina, Mr. Davis was a key contributor for the state DOT’s initiation of several UAS ‘firsts in flight’ including flights crossing busy surface traffic, commercial routine package delivery operations of over 10,000 medical tests to date, statewide UAS Traffic Management (UTM) concepts and beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) statewide bridge inspections. For 36 years at NASA, Mr. Davis was an individual contributor, principal investigator and ultimately the Division Chief of one of NASA’s largest advanced aviation automation concepts division. These included automation systems that touch nearly every commercial flight in the U.S. today and advanced UAS concepts including UTM.
