Description

This workshop will create awareness around groundbreaking methodologies and technologies being used to navigate the challenges of operational safety and efficiency under adverse meteorological conditions, particularly snow and ice. Collaboratively, this workshop amalgamates expertise from Oklahoma State University, the National Center for Atmospheric Research, Anzen Unmanned, and WindShape. The presentations will cover the novel physics of rapid ice accretion, pioneering laboratory-scale snow-generation systems, and the innovative Windshaper technology explicitly tailored for the capture of validated data from indoor drone testing laboratories. This integrative workshop will not only highlight the importance of cultivating a robust safety ethos in unmanned aviation but also suggest rigorous benchmarks in UAS and AAM testing, validation, and certification procedures. In this workshop, we’ll provide a comprehensive path to bridge existing knowledge gaps, with insights for UAS/AAM operations to be conducted safely under challenging environmental scenarios.
