Matt McCardle

Head of Global Regulatory Affairs and Strategy
Amazon Prime Air

Profile

Matt McCardle is the Head of Global Regulatory Affairs and Policy for Prime Air, Amazon’s drone delivery service. Matt leads the team responsible for governmental approvals, policy development, strategy, and external engagement for Prime Air. Matt joined Amazon in July of 2017, and started at the company as the leader for all policy efforts for Amazon Global Air, Amazon Prime Air, and international logistics.
Prior to joining Amazon, Matt served as Senior Director, Government Operations, for The Boeing Company. At Boeing, Matt focused on all federal policy issues pertaining to Boeing Commercial Airplanes. He was responsible for representing Boeing’s interests and policy positions on safety, certification, and cybersecurity issues before the U.S. Congress, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
Matt also served as a professional staff member on both the House and Senate Committees on Appropriations. While serving on the Appropriations Committees in both chambers, Matt specialized in the appropriations and oversight of the Federal Aviation Administration, conducting audits and oversight of air traffic operations, flight standards and aircraft certification programs, and multi-billion dollar Next Generation Air Traffic System procurements. He also covered a number of other issues within the Departments of Treasury, Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development.
A native of Moundsville, West Virginia, Matt earned a B.A. in political science from Bethany College. He and his wife, Kylin, and son Graham, reside in Arlington, Virginia.
