Description

Pre-Registration is required.  Click here to enroll.

Target Audience: Both new and experienced Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS) operators and stakeholders from the public safety, first responder, emergency management, military, government, and critical infrastructure communities that are interested in coordinating and building out a concept of operations for an integrated jurisdictional response to disaster situations.

Workshop facilitators from CNA’s Institute for Public Research will provide a workshop to XPONENTIAL attendees, which will be a unique and challenging addition to the conference agenda. Using a realistic scenario, a facilitator will lead participants through a series of questions and challenges that will generate ideas about how stakeholders use and could use UAS both during day-to-day operations and during disaster response. Participants will consider how they would work together with other organizations in their communities in these scenarios. Doing a UAS Integration Workshop provides a unique opportunity to gather diverse stakeholders and tackle problems that can best be solved by the community as a whole. Misconceptions will be dispelled, and participants will test their beliefs and ideas against a realistic scenario, which will bring to light additional questions and topics that should be addressed in future or current plans. Diverse stakeholders (e.g., emergency management, law enforcement, fire, and private sector) will discuss and understand each other‘s UAS capabilities, leading to more detailed thinking about operational coordination and technological requirements. And finally, participants will leave the workshop with access to a How-To guide and template for developing their own integrated UAS CONOPS.
